- Smell propane
- Suspect you have a leak in your system
- Need a propane appliance connected or disconnected
- Move, or if there will be a change in tenant status
- Purchase a new or replace an existing propane appliance
- Have plans for an outdoor project that requires digging

If you smell propane and/or suspect a leak:
- Do not operate lights or electrical equipment (including phones)
- Leave the area IMMEDIATELY
- Call 911 from a safe location
- Call Van Dyke Gas from a safe location and do not return to the building until a professional determines it is safe to do so
- Before you use a propane-powered appliance, schedule a safety inspection
